1. If a mattress is too hard when you try it out, it will be too hard when you get it home. It's not going to soften up.

2. Queen and kings are the same length.( 80 inches)  But kings are 16 inches wider.California kings are 4 inches longer ( 84 ) but 4 inches narrower, ( 72 )

3. The size of mattresses are

Twin 38 x 75, Full 54 x 75

Queen 60 x 80, King  76 X 80

Cal king 72 X 84

4. The majority  of all  bedframes are 7 1/2 in high

5. There's very little difference in mattresses. Some have round coils, square coils, triangular coils, big coils , little coils, thin coils, thick coils. the different padding brings a different comfort level but, as far as the warrranty. All manufacturers  warranty the compression of the coils and not the padding. If the padding compacts, it's not a warranted issue.

6.  If you get one stain or mark on your mattress, your warranty is no longer valid. All manufacturers suggest a mattress pad. I suggest a waterproof mattress pad.

7. If you purchased a Tempur-pedic. you have to keep the mattress 90 days like it or not. That's a long time to be uncomfortable.

8. Children should have very good mattresses. Most children grow in their sleep, It's important to have the right alignment and support for the spine.

9. Most mattresses sag because the foundation is sagging. A foundation may seem strong when you push it for 2 seconds but, when you lay our entire body weight on it for 8 hours it can easily sag.

10. Most of the time when you awake with numbness in your hands, arms and hips. It's because your lying on the helical wire that's in all innerspring coils systems. Time to get a new mattress.

11. If a mattress only has a 10 year warranty, then you must assume that the functional life of that mattress is 10 years regardless of the name or cost. Why pay more for the same use?

12. A very hard mattress is not good for your back. A hard mattress will not conform to the alignment of your spine. Unless a doctor prescribe it don't buy it.

13. If you and your mate are of extremely different weights. The person with the most weight will dominant that mattress and eventually the person with the lesser weight will begin to roll towards that person. This is known as "roll together". All innersprings  mattresses will do this regardless of the name and cost. Solution, foam is a good substitute but, air is a great substitute.

14. Foam mattress pads are only a temporary fix for a saggy mattress. The foam pad will eventually sag with the mattress.

15. If your mattress is too soft. A 1/2 inch of plywood between the mattress and box spring will firm your mattress up to 20%.

16. A pillow account for 20% of your comfort. So to purchase a mattress without a comfortable pillow you're only getting  80% comfort.

17. You need to lay on a mattress at least 10 minutes before you purchase it. 10 minutes will give you a pretty good account of the comfort. Most retailer don't want you to lay on their mattresses that long, for the fear you will not be comfortable and you will not buy it. They know that once the mattress set is in your home you own it and there's no refund. Mattress Alternative will strongly suggest for you and your sleep partner to lay on the mattress at least 10 minutes. If you don't, you will not get a 30 day in-home trial. It's better to know now than later.

The Chinese mattresses are now in the work place. These mattresses are taking jobs and rising the cost of American made mattresses.  These mattresses are shabily made and have a very strong fume smell.The manufacture is called Definity Collection.
